Hill Women: Finding Family and a Way Forward in the Appalachian Mountains by Cassie Chambers

Quick, fast-paced read that I really enjoyed. Chambers is a hero in her own right and proves the power of motivated parents and believing you are capable of escaping a life you don't want.
I will say, I was kind of expecting this book to be more about the "Hill Woman" lifestyle. What exactly they do throughout their day, month, year to stay afloat in life? What are their family stories? This a more-so a story about Chambers' life path in particular (with a little too much emphasis on Ivy League education.)
I do think this book lacked a bit of depth and energy. But overall, an interesting read and another book proving that women work just as hard as men, if not exceptionally harder. It also ended with a strong epilogue that I’m glad I didn’t skip.
