The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
4.0
The Graveyard Book's rate of a well-bonded fading four stars represents my strong recommendation of the book. In the scope of a children's novel, this provides a great introduction in the habit of reading as it completely uses comprehensible verbiage and lifelike characters making its entirety appears like a cartoon - festive and colorful. My high recommendation is for those individuals aiming to establish a reading hobby. The overall experience reminded me of the cartoon Chalkzone.
The strengths of the book are its magnificent world-building - each and every residents of the graveyard are well-researched and splendidly referenced from historical figures, progressive characterization in where every chapter seems to provide very significant lessons for an individual's coming of age, vividly creative descriptions, and friendly writing approach. The only weakness I found is the inadequate depth with the story of the Jacks, providing a lacking interpretation of the antagonists.
