Quick pacing and deeply sad, I love a multi-generation story and this did not disappoint. I loved the rich descriptions of medicine and nature/environment. I felt a bit like Big Ammachi and Mariamma were more idealized/symbolic than fully explored/realized characters bookending the story, and I had a hard time getting over an adult-minor relationship at the beginning on the book (see content warnings as there’s some heavy stuff), but it was beautifully written and all and all great read.
