I can definitely blame the Czech translation of this book on me not enjoying the first 1/3 of this book, purely because of the fact that some things were mistranslated (there was one moment where Flick was asking about the suitcases, and Jonathan used a completely different word than Flick asked about - which left me confused and I had to re-read the page twice after that to see if I wasnt paying attention and missed something, but no, the translator just used a different word there. Definitely felt like the translator going "oh well the book is 9+, the kids are not going to notice this!"). And probably my biggest problem about the translation was the fact that oh hey, this book takes place in the UK so most of the main characters just have English names, and the translator of the book decided to rewrite Jonathan's name with the Czech spelling of his name - Jonatán - which was probably annoying me more than it should've. Because he was kinda the only main character whose name had different spelling and thus a different pronounciation.
Other than that I really enjoyed this book, even tho i felt like the book was taking forever to get started, don't get me wrong it was interesting from the the begining, but around 2/3 through the book is when I felt the action finally started. I also really enjoyed the narration of the audiobook, and I'm excited to listen to the other two. Hopefully the other novels won't have such a long start since a lot of things have already been explained.
