A River of Royal Blood by Amanda Joy

4.0

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I have been making more of an effort to read books from black authors with black leads.

This book is almost as if you took Raybearer, A Song of Wraith and Ruin, and Daughters of Nri and combined them. African Mythology is prominent in this story, and I love how vivid of a picture Amanda Joy paints with the scenes in the story. I feel like I am right there watching everything unfold. I love Eva because watching her try and understand who she is and her purpose is relatable in a sense as well.

Definitely read this book if you are interested in a nice fantasy read
