Love from Scratch by Kaitlyn Hill

4.0

Huge thanks PRH International, and Kaitlyn Hill for my e-ARC in exchange for the honest review.

Friends of Flavor, Reese's favorite culinary channel, has offered her an internship. Friends of Flavor helped her through a tough time in her life, and she hopes to be chosen for fall employment to support her studies. When Benny, the charming intern cook, arrives, he takes Reese on an adventure. He's not only charming, but he's also head over heels in love with Reese. Reese and Benny end up in a culinary battle for Fall employment. Reese struggles to push her growing infatuation with Benny to the side as the competition progresses.

Love From Scratch is an excellent combination of lovely personalities, yummy food, and a heartwarming romance. The banter between the main characters is adorable, and you can sense the chemistry between them. I like how the author approached the subject of cyberbullying in a genuine and emotive manner. You don't see many novels these days that tackle such heavy subjects as Kaitlyn did. Reese is a fantastic character who is easy to adore and root for as she struggles through her internship. In addition, the culinary puns in this book were amusing and contributed to the story's cooking theme. It was a lovely, fluffy read that lifted my emotions. It was an excellent debut, and I eagerly await Kaitlyn's next book.
