A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor by Hank Green

5.0

I really enjoyed this book! I found this book more exciting and grandiose that the first one, "An Absolutely Remarkable Thing." Like I stayed up listening to it, thinking about the book.
I thought that telling the story using different narrations and transcripts or other mediums was creative and empowering. Like choosing to use first-person sources to get the most authentic retelling of a fictional story.
This was quite an epic story, especially relevant today. The story felt well thought out, like in all dimensions, including how the economy would react to something like this.
The characters were three-dimensional, likeable, and loved just as much by the author as the reader.
I think fans of "Ready Player One" will also like this book. I found it to be a similar yet modern dystopian tale. Both books definitely have me wary of using a VR headset or trusting an all-powerful tech company anytime soon.
(Also, my cat is named Carl so it was very weird and hilarious at times reading this.)
