I loved the first book but I didn't expect to love A Gathering of Shadows so much more.
I also didn't expect to like to separate point of views and storylines that don't come together for quite a while as much as I did. Props to V.E.Schwab for making all of her different perspectives and side characters interesting enough for me to keep reading and not just loosely look over the ones I don't like.
