I’m not sure how to rate this and this book is certainly not for everyone. It’s going to take me a long time to digest this, but I can speak to how this book surprised me. This book is not just about trauma and abuse, but about our culture and the current climate and conversations surrounding sexual abuse and power dynamics. The characters felt incredibly real and crafted with empathy and nuance. I would recommend listening to this on audio book if it’s easier to listen to triggering content. There’s a great discussion after the audio book with the audio book reader, author, and editor that really helped ground me after such an intense and ambiguous story.
