I had such mixed feelings about this book because I think some of the world building for the characteristics of certain aspects was a bit inconsistent. I had to frequently reread lines of the books.
But I fucking LOVED the MCs.
The FMC is immediately thrilled to be dropped into a fantasy world to have her own adventure. At least for a little bit. She was the naive sunshine (and I’m diagnosing her with autism because she’s totally autistic coded) sweetheart who grows into herself. The MMC was the desperate to be loved tragic back story morally grey/villainous dreamboat and they were perfect for each other. The ending was fabulous and sweet and I love them.
