Verity
by Colleen Hoover
3.5 stars for me. This was definitely a fast read and suspenseful and the plot was very interesting. However, I’m going to be honest that I found the middle chunk of the book very repetitive and it felt like an onslaught of sex scenes and stories of horrible things, one after another. I felt like I could guess the next chapter at a certain point.
As far as characters go, I didn’t really feel like I had anyone to cheer for because Jeremy and Löwen and Verity seemed equally terrible and the relationships that seem like lust and necessity at best. Verity, I will say, is at least interesting.
The twist at the end also felt a little…..contrived? I guess more foreshadowing would’ve made it a little more believable.
Anyway, still a very fun and interesting read I guess I was expecting more after all the hype!
