The Girl in the Eagle's Talons by Karin Smirnoff

5.0

I've really enjoyed this series, even through the change in authors.

Mikael Blomkvist has been an investigative journalist with Millenium for 31 years, they have just published they final physical edition and he does not know where he wants to go from here. He is taking time to visit his estranged daughter and her son, as she prepares to get married. This takes him to a small municipality called Gasskas.

Lisbeth also ends up in Gasskas. Her niece's mother has disappeared and Lisbeth is the relative contacted to take care of her.

Mikael's soon to be son-in-law is a municipal leader. On the surface he has everything going for him. But beneath it all he is being threatened by an unspeakably evil man heading a company that wants complete control over the windfarm venture he is spearheading.

Eventually Mikael and Lisbeth's paths come together, when Mikael's grandson is kidnapped.
