declanellis 's review for:
That All Shall Be Saved: Heaven, Hell, and Universal Salvation
by David Bentley Hart
As somebody who holds neither the view under attack nor the view being advanced, this book was strangely more diverting than truly challenging.
Hart is as always a master of the English language and an impassioned, forceful writer. His scathing rhetoric is a pleasure to read, even if it is only sometimes backed up by substantive arguments.
Hart's tour through creation, judgement and freedom has many points of interest and I feel enlightened by many of the points made.
