It’s been a little while since I got a whole weekend to read at home so when I was finally able to, I devoured this one. The multi-species world is an interesting one and I knew I was going to like the dynamic but didn’t realize how much. I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery that got mixed into this one and I got surprised with a lot of the outcomes. I loved Lowe and could see the feelings he had for Misery from a mile away but loved how she couldn’t. I was invested with how the weres and vamps operated and found it captivating to try and pick up on both of their species dynamics. Misery was an amazing character - she was tough and spunky and incredibly brave. I loved that she found herself more at home with humans and werewolves than she did her own species. It really is realistic to society and although sometimes it felt a little rushed, I loved the overall plot and loved the outcome even more.
