The Courting of Bristol Keats by Mary E. Pearson
adventurous
tense
slow-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
3.5
I'm somewhat conflicted about this one. On the one hand, it was entertaining and definitely enjoyable. On the other hand, it fell ever so slightly flat for me.
I liked the characters and the plot was fun. That being said, while there wasn't necessarily anything wrong with it but also nothing entirely new or exciting. I think I just wanted a bit more from everything, whilst also feeling the book definitely could have been shorter. The ending was also somewhat anticlimactic.
That being said, it's very possible this is a 'right book, wrong time' situation, so I'd definitely be interested to see what I thought upon a reread before the sequel's released!
