What We Talk about When We Talk about Love
by Raymond Carver
"He gets up from his chair and refills their glasses.
That's it, he says. End of story. I admit it's not much of a story.
I was interested, she says."
This quote from 'Everything Stuck To Him' sums up my feelings about these stories. At first I thought I wasn't going to get anything out of this writing, but I did change my mind. They are melancholic and often unsatisfying and hard to relate to at this point in my life (and hopefully at no point in my future). The stories did suck me in and he sure can convey a lot of information in few words. I think I just wanted more poetry and maybe relatability.
