I didn't know what to expect from this prequel to Legends and Lattes, which was one of my favourite books this year already. And I had a sweet and lovely surprise in Booshops and Bonedust.

The feelings this story made me feel were very similar to what I felt when I first read Legends and Lattes. It made so many things clear about Viv. How she felt the need to settle down and provide a little slice of peace and warmth to people.
It all came from a little beach down and a dusty bookshop and wonderful friends.
The story is definitely cosy with a touch of romance, lots of humour, and even a mystery and some excitement. But overall, it is simply a lovely story about lovely souls.

The characters that Viv meets in this book form her into the person she is with laughter and kindness and calm. The restless, young fighter settles into herself and her values while she recovers in the small town of Murk.
Fern, the foul-mouthed bookshop owner and overall sweet rattkin, Maylee, the flirty bakery, Satchel, the unexpectedly sarcastic pile of bones, and everyone else in the town felt like a little family. Even if for only a few weeks.

The familiar vibes of opening and flourishing a small business is so heartwarming. I loved every minute of this book.

I also loved Travis narration. He's so talented, and his voice was just as cosy as the book.
