House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland

5.0

The grotesque descriptions in this book really had me cringing and wincing, and i absolutely loved it. I would definitely classify this as a horror because of those descriptions as well as certain things about the plot, which I also absolutely loved. I wasn't too intrigued by the plot because of the synopsis, but the approach the author took on the missing-girls/memory-loss trope is unlike anything I've read before. It seems like she intended to mix in certain notorious serial killers' signatures, and I'm a big fan of reading true crime, so I really appreciated that. The writing is stunning, and the twists had me shook, so I honestly couldn't ask for anything else.
