I didn’t like it as much as the first book. It felt heavy handed at times. And the pacing started to drag towards the end. I also didn’t really like the further exploration of the Teek people… it seemed a bit like playing into negative stereotypes that exist about pacific islander women to me. But there were some really charming character dynamics built and some really vivid descriptions that I liked.
