honestly i was obsessed with reading this book beforehand, I read some bits and it seemed so promising. i actually thought this would be legendary cause I love fran. but my problem was that i couldn't relate-i'm not a new yorker, different generations, different sense of humor etc and tbh i didn't even laughed at all-a bit weird cause i find most fran lebowitz interviews not hilarious but entairtaining at least. nonetheless, even if i didn't enjoy this i still recognize fran as an icon, legend and an incredibly smart person and i really hope she writes something new that fit our times, which are-at least for america as far as i'm concerned-the most absurd in history. so rn a fran lebowitz commentary would be excellent imo
