Wow. Just Wow.
I am in awe of this tale about a tame fox hand raised by a deep thinking young boy. This is the next Where the Red Fern Grows for me. It is the story of selfless love-both humans and animals exhibit it throughout the book. It is the story of loss and regret and self-punishment and penance and forgiveness. It is the story of human kindness, human frailty and human depravity. It is the story of survival and parental love and abandonment.
This is a Newbery winner if ever I have read one.
Highly recommended
