Malibu Rising

3.5 stars actually, rounded up to four because, ultimately, I enjoyed the book.
Not going to lie, I felt the first part dragged and it was a bit of a chore to get into it. The setting was interesting, so were the characters, but it just wasn't doing it for me.
Part Two and the actual Party, however, had a much faster pacer and I was FAR more engaged as shit hit the fan, relationships came to a close, reckonings were made and fire raged on. Burned through it in about 5 hours and actually enjoyed it a lot..
I'm very curious about Carrie Soto, now. Definitely going to check it out!
