i want to disclaim by saying that this book was beautifully written and that julie olivia is very talented. but this book IMO was not romantic and quite frankly was kinda dark and a little depressing. i’m admittedly not a fan of the miscommunication/non-communication trope, and as many other reviewers mentioned, there is one moment where our characters are at a fork in the road and it just goes completely sideways for no reason other than plot, and i did not enjoy the book after that. these characters, who i was rooting for since book 1 in this series, did not deserve the heartache and drama in the book, nor did they need to experience it. i was excited to finish this series but now i just feel kinda sad.
