~My Thoughts~
This was such a journey, I don’t know if I can put all my thoughts into words but what I can say is this.
This book is truly fantasy at its finest.
The premise of this story is just fantastic (I love an undercover assassin), with a well laid out plot with so many twists and turns and awesome characters.
A standout for me is that there’s a big theme of trust in this book that’s laid out right at the start and it felt like such a clever way for the author to warn you that you truly cannot trust anyone. And I loved that so much? Like even characters I loved I was second guessing every single action.
The world was well laid out and intricate and the characters were all so well written with so much depth.
There is a lot of lore and I’m still left with questions but I’m very excited for all my questions to be answered and dots to be connected as the series goes on.
And the romance? Besties you aren’t ready for the general that is Xeyvian 🤭👀 There’s yearning, hurt comfort, and the haters to lovers is STRONG.
I felt like this book really delivered and I cannot wait for the next one.
If this really tickles your tastebuds, you can actually sign up for an eARC now! You can find them on the authors page
Otherwise, Child of Shavay releases on October 16th!
