The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi

4.0

If you didn't tell other people, was it real or was it just something the two of you were telling yourselves?

It was just simply sad. How someone lives within a conservative heteronormative society, trying to live as true to oneself without getting hurt.

I was heartbroken throughout the whole book. The whole familial intricacies in it were painful. And gosh the whole misogynistic undertones are painful to read. (How is it always the women's fault?). But the whole book was written spectacularly.
