This is a modern take on Hades and Persephone, something I don't think I've quite read before, so I was very interested. Unfortunately, it fell kind of flat for me.
I enjoyed how Hades and Persephone interacted. They worked so well together and made each other better. Their interactions really made the book, as everything else was just kinda "meh" for me. I've seen people talk about how steamy this is and while there's a lot of it, it wasn't for me. On a scale of 1 to 5 I found it to be a 2, maybe 2.5. Maybe I'm just used to a different level and type of steam? I don't know.
Something I also liked was how the author made it kind of obvious that Hades and Persephone both aren't straight, without outright saying it. More of that in books, please!
One last thing I liked? Some of the lines/quotes. For example: “You’ve ruined me, Persephone. Forgive the fuck out of me if I want to return the favor.” Nice.
