The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino
3.0
I enjoyed this book very much. I didn't expect the plot twist. I think it gives a novel perspective to a classical murder mystery. I really enjoyed reading it. It has a similar plot line to the Bollywood movie Drishyam which I enjoyed very much.
But I had several problems. First one was the lack of consistency. Maybe it is a translation issue. But I felt it doesn't have a natural flow. And I also think it should be a bit fast paced. I understand that Japanese stories are very slow paced. But as this is a murder mystery, I wanted it to be faster.
What bothered me was Togashi not having any enemies despite he being such a character. Police pinned the murder to the ex-wife. But other than that I enjoyed the book.
