Delectably disgusting. I’m pretty hard to gross out, being a kid that grew up on seeking out gory movies. There’s something about how Nick illustrates the five senses in this book that REALLY turned my stomach. The way he wrote I could really see it in my brain. I love the flash backs to and from the court case while Max and Newt were still on the island, you started to really hope they pulled through at the end. The way he wrote Shelley really disturbed me. Nick cited Steven King’s Carrie as one of his inspirations and he really honoured that. Really fantastic, disgusting, foul book. 10/10.
