You Do Something to Me by Bella Andre

5.0

Would you listen to You Do Something To Me (New York Sullivans #3) (The Sullivans Book 17) again? Why?
I would listen to this book again. Ms. Kaminsky does a great job at bringing the Sullivan family, as well as the extended family to life. She has the perfect tone of voice that lets you relax and concentrate on what she's reading. I didn't hear any type of blips that would interrupt that enjoyment. There are those that can't read a book and what better way to enjoy Ms. Andre's world but by having someone help you experience this family.

Who was your favorite character and why?
I think it's a toss up between Cordelia and Alec. They both seem to need the other. We have two people with strong personalities. But the sense of family shines through and it's hard not to care about the lives of this branch of the Sullivans.

Which character – as performed by Eva Kaminsky – was your favorite?
Cordelia edges out Alec by just a hair. Cordelia is a woman who is thrown out of her comfort zone when her world is turned upside down. Alec has a business that needs him but you see how hard it is for him not to have Cordelia in his life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Having lost a parent a year ago, it would probably be the memorial service. I had no trouble picturing that scene play out. It also made me glad that our service was a lot less grand. This is something that the author is good at. The reader gets to feel as if they are a part of the Sullivan clan.

Any additional comments?
I'm trying to bring my flower garden back to life and Cordelia has me thinking about what I might try to invite some nature into my yard. This story had me looking forward to Spring so that I can get back out into the yard and see things start to grow. It would also be the perfect time to relisten to this story. It may also be a bad time because I may end up concentrating on the book so much that I sit down, forget about my work, and just listen.

Our author reminds the reader that you don't need a lot of sex to have a really romantic story. Ms. Kaminsky reminds the reader that with the right narrator it's ok to relax and concentrate as someone tells you a very romantic tale. She has such a pleasant voice that all outside noises just seem to disappear when all that's left is the story she's telling you. The only disappointment was when the end came. It's also a realization that there's not a book four. But what's good is that I have plenty of other Sullivans to get to know and all of them are read by Ms. Kaminsky.

I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.
