The Boss Situation: a billionaire workplace enemies to lovers office romcom by Lyra Parish
5.0
"The Boss Situation" by Lyra Parish is the 3rd book in the "Billionaire Situation" series.
Even if the book can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the first 2 books before.
Thank you Lyra for the e-ARC.
Opinions from this review are completely my own.
I was looking forward to Billie and Asher's story for a while as they were in the other books too.
Billie is Easton and Weston's sister and has a fashion company with her best friend Harper.
Asher has a marketing company and is considered the best. He is also friend with Easton and Weston.
Billie and Asher cannot stand each other since college and she will not ask for his help to save her company (even if she needs it).
What you can expect:
- hate to love with a lot of tension
- billionaire romance
- he fall first and hard
- secret relationship
- she's the boss
- slow burn
- spice
- witty banter
- suspense
- plot twists
The Friend Situation was my favorite book so far, but this one is even better.
I knew that Billie and Asher hate each other and they both have strong personalities.
She is very strong and independent, has a lot of determination and doesn't want any help from her brothers or Asher.
He seems to be ruthless, but has a mask in place to protect himself.
I love that this is dual POV and we get to know how he actually feels about her.
They have such explosive chemistry and all their interactions were intense.
It was so nice to find out how they met and see how different they are when they get along.
There is also a suspense side in the story, with corporate fashion wars and some twists that I did not expect.
Also, there are some emotional parts and a few things that can be triggering (mentioned: death of a sibling, car accident, grief, infidelity; on page: unwanted following, unwanted touching, violence).
The end also is bit of a cliffhanger and sets up the plot for the next book (Harper and Brody's story).
Even if the book can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the first 2 books before.
