The banter and arguing between Roe and Santiago had me laughing at every page. This was my first motocross romance book and I loved it, I think it is now one of my favorite sports romance books.
Roe was independent, strong, and had walls up around her heart that she was afraid to break down but Santiago allowed her to feel again while she was safe. Roe has ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder Ambar did a great job portraying these disorders and I felt connected to this character and could not help but want to hold Roe through this book. She was dealing with demons of her past that made her close herself off and never want to love again but Santiago showed her she wasn’t broken. Roe was feisty and never backed down from a fight, especially in race. She is also a dark romance girly herself and I couldn’t love this more.
Santiago “Saint” is now on the top of my book boyfriend list. He was so caring for Roe and wanted to hold all of her demons and help her face them. He wanted to take care of Roe and show her what being his was like and he took this challenge on and never backed down. He would work out with her so she wasn’t alone, made her homemade breakfast before the workouts because he knew she would forget to eat. He was a family man and was battling his demons as well. He held Roe up when she didn’t believe in herself and was her personal weighted blanket because she couldn’t sleep without one. Saint helps her when she becomes overstimulated and knows when she wants to be touch and when she doesn’t. Whenever Saint said something in Spanish I melted on the spot 🥵.
This is the 2nd book in the series but can be read as a standalone but I will be continuing this series because I loved these characters so much.
If you love a small-town romance, enemies to lovers, spice, and broody golden retriever x black cat this book it for you 🩵.
