oh wow. taylor jenkins reid did it again. what a masterpiece.

daisy jones & the six tells the story of the rise and fall, the ugly and the pretty, the love and hate and everything in between of the fictional 1970s rockband daisy jones & the six.

written in an interview style, we get all the perspectives on events and all the personal stories and emotions from the band members, but also outsiders that got in touch with the band one way or the other.

this alone was beyond incredibly written and so interesting to read and listen to! i constantly changed between reading the book and listening to the audiobook - might sound weird but biggest recommendation! the audio book is incredible with different voices for each character, like you are listening to a real documentary, while the book feels more personal, something to hold onto and annotate all the perfect quotes.
i enjoyed the beginning but eventually, this was so much more than just a story about a band and the life of sex, drugs and rock’n roll: i sat there teary-eyed, completely emotionally invested, feeling the pain of and the love for every one of these characters.

one of the books i will never stop recommending and everyone should read, especially now that the tv adaptation will be released soon!
