I enjoyed such books as a child, but not anymore as it seems.
With a very well-written but mediocre plot, we get this stereotypical rags & riches story. No really, what was the moral of the story? If I were a clueless teenager and I read this, I'd think you'd need to be rude and snobby to be popular and that's all that mattered.
It was fun but pointless.
