i was a bit nervous to finally read this book because of how hyped up it is, but it absolutely lived up to its expectations! it starts off a bit slow and uninteresting but will quickly grab your attention and keep you hanging on until the last word. the plot twists were very well done; they were not predictable and boring but not too outlandish either. very well crafted story and amazing character development that makes it feel so real. highly recommend, especially if you like historical fiction and queer characters! :)
lots of minor content warnings (including abortion, alcoholism, physical abuse, suicide, etc.) but nothing graphic or triggering. any sensitive topics mentioned in this book were very methodically used and well-written into the plot. :)
