In Other Words by Jhumpa Lahiri
2.0

This book was a self-involved collection of diary entries that focused on feelings rather than experiences. I related a lot to Jhumpa Lahiri's struggle with a second language, her recollections of life as a child of immigrants, and her desire to find a means of self expression that was entirely her own. But man. There was very little progress and the entire book felt like I was circling the drain of a dull, monotonous person who's not sure they're being understood and so keep finding new ways to repeat the same idea over and over. I get it. I heard you the first time. Could we move on please. I kept reading, but the author never moved on.
