I just finished Mountains Made of Glass, and it definitely gave me a Beauty and the Beast vibe—but with its own unique spin. The “Beast” wasn’t what I expected, and “Beauty” herself was written in such a different way that it kept me curious about where the story would go.
This was my first time listening to one of her books, and overall, I’d give it a solid four stars. The audiobook narration was really well done, which helped pull me into the world. That said, I think I might be a little biased because I’ve listened to other fairy-tale retellings before, and part of me was craving just a little bit more.
Still, I really enjoyed the way she reimagined the story and added her own voice to it. The writing felt strong, and it gave me a fresh take on a classic tale.
