The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
4.5
adventurous funny lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes

As a STEM student with dreams of pursuing academia, The Love Hypothesis felt deeply personal. The lab setting, the constant pressure of imposter syndrome, and the subtle power imbalances in academia were all so realistically portrayed. It was like reading a love letter to every woman trying to carve out space in male-dominated scientific spaces.
Olive’s vulnerability really struck a chord with me, and Adam’s quiet, unwavering support made the grumpy-sunshine dynamic shine. Their chemistry built slowly but beautifully, with so many moments that had me smiling at the page.
That said, I did take off half a star because I couldn’t stop wondering: would Adam have ever made a move if Olive hadn’t kissed him first? For someone so observant and emotionally intelligent, it felt like he was oddly passive in the romance until pushed. I just wanted a little more agency from him earlier on.
