The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton

3.0

I didn't like this book as much as his debut book, I found that there was too much backsory that I had to go through in order to understand what's going on at present, and it just kept going on and on, I totally understand why the author did it otherwise we wouldn't be able to understandand or connect to the characters but I would have preferred the book to be shorter bc I pretty much only loved the ending while the rest of the book, while set in an interesting place was mediocre, there just wasn't enough intrigue in my opinion and the only thing keeping me from dnfing was bc I loved his other book so much.

HOWEVER the ending was absolutely insane, it blew my mind completely, I totally didn't expect it and I kind of want to read a sequel where what they say in the end happens!

I just wish I felt like that throught the book and not just right at the end especially bc this isn't a short book.
