This is not a book for the faint of heart (900+ pages? Seriously?!?) but worth every second that you put into it. I could not put it down — I was so blown away (once again) at SJM’s storytelling prowess. This culmination of the Throne of Glass series had me gasping, holding my breath, and weeping to the point that my eyes were nearly swollen shut.
A beautiful tale that is not just an adventure and a tale of good vs evil — it is about how we find our strength in the bonds we forge and the families we choose; how the power to triumph does not come from magic or supernatural abilities but from strength of character; how the heroes in any battle are not just the fighters but the healers and the hope and clarity of those that support them…
Of course, it did not hurt that among all these things, the romantic in me was wonderfully satisfied with some heart stopping romance with just the right amount of spice 🌶️ … I could go on but in the end, it was possibly one of the most satisfying endings I have read in ages. Thank you SJM for sharing this world and these characters with me and all the other readers out there who share my passion for beautiful and absorbing stories.
