This was such a cute book and the great start of 2024. This book is about Grace who is ready to take some next steps and Cal who is looking to give his 4-year-old sister the life she deserves. I really enjoyed the story that Coney wrote. I was hooked from the beginning with the warm feeling the writing was giving. The storyline was well done with many memorable scenes. The pacing was very fast but the author did a great job making sure each scene was perfect. I loved the short amount of traveling done in this book and discovering variety of different parts of this small town. The book is written from both Grace and Cal's pov who were both so amazing.

Grace is an inspired author and ballet teacher who has had a traumatic past and wants to experience more. Cal is a tattooist who is focusing on his little sister. I loved both of these characters and their journey with each other. Their chemistry was amazing and I loved how they became best friends first. Grace is such an understanding person and Cal is a cinnamon roll daddy who makes sure his girls are treated right. There romance had some spice scenes in this very slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance. There were also some amazing side characters. Maddie is such a cutie and I want everyone to give her amazing treatment. Grace's cousin was so supportive that I loved him too.

The ending was great and we got an epilogue which gives a glimpse of I think 4 years later. This book was amazing and I really loved the story that Coney created for their readers. I know there is a second book which I can't wait and I hope it's Grace's cousin's story as I believe that would be amazing. I can't wait to see what else Coney had in store for us.
