An enjoyable fantasy adventure with compelling characters. I liked how the point-of-view switched between the trio of main characters because this revealed details of the story to the reader, giving hints of what was to come for the other characters not in the same scene/situation.
When I began reading this book, I didn't know it was part of a series. I honestly thought it was a stand-alone novel. But of course it ends with things wide-open and now I'm ready for the next book!
