The writing in this book, that tried to force you to read the dialogue and thoughts with a specific southern accent was hard for me to get around. Most of the book felt like filler and then the ending didn't feel like it was fully finished; it felt rushed and incomplete. The book at times felt like a chore to read. At times the character development or lack there of felt weird. For example,
it felt weird to have Grandpa be portrayed as this man who only wanted a house keeper, to then have him turn and confess at the end of the book, that he did have eyes for Miss Love
. It almost felt like the author didn't know who they wanted the characters to be overall.
