This was a pretty good read for spooky season. A little paranormal, supernatural, witchy, and creepy. All the things. Being a psychologist myself, I enjoyed that the main character, Mina, was a child psychologist. Was she any good at it? It’s hard to say… All of the men involved in this story are highly irritating and disappointing, causing much more trouble than they’re worth. But…given that the whole premise of the novel surrounded Mina helping a young girl named Alice, there was zero resolution to that entire storyline. In the end, Mina got some well-deserved revenge, but everything going on with Alice was left entirely unanswered. And I do mean everything. It almost makes you feel like you missed a section of the book that isn’t even there. I’m all for some unanswered questions, but not when it involves the whole plot.
