A few weeks ago, I decided that if I’m not enjoying a book, I will stop reading it, and Unearthed is the first victim. For the following reasons:
-Insta-love. They just met and they’re already trying to make each other smile?
-Amelia is annoying and too trusting, both her and Jules actually. You’d think in this world people would be hesitant to trust strangers. Just because someone saved you, doesn’t mean you should trust them.
-it’s just boring (or what I’ve read that is). The few encounters so far, and especially the setting, are simply bland, and I’m not expecting it to become more interesting anytime soon.
-it seems to be one of those books that spend a lot of time on a journey the characters take under difficult conditions to get somewhere. And I am tired of these stories.
Overall, I could tell this would’ve been a 2.5-star read, at the maximum.
Anyway, it sounded like a promising book, but it just wasn’t for me.
