I finally got rid of this series of books a few years ago at a garage sale after I had drug them from pillar to post and I still regret it. I could pick up any book in the series, much like the Narnia books, and be sucked right back in.
The characters were realistic in their nitpicking and arguments while engaging in a fun and fantastic quest. Treasure maps, evil geniuses, it really has it all.
