Corinne Michaels'  Here and Now  is the second book in Ember Falls. This rivals some of the best romantic suspense books today. Miles the MMC appeared in book one and is friends with Lach. The main FMC works for Hazel who appeared in book one. They are a story about building tension and a past the FMC is trying to keep from finding her. The suspense part of this romantic suspense factors into the plot which is interwoven with the character driven months. The growth of Miles and Penelope comes in some unexpected ways.  Intrinsics moments to the plot that you moment read to find out are scattered throughout different points of this storyline. Miles and Penelope’s love story is as appealing as Lach and Ainsley with very different obstacles in their way to HEA. Much like Lach’s story, a child Kai is involved. The microtropes of here and now are single mom, found family, he falls first, small town, romantic suspense and heroine on the run. Penelope is a barista with a college education and single mom. Miles is a high school principal twin to Eloise, and uncle. I highly recommend this book and ember falls series to read who both have read Corinne Michaels before or are new to her books. Corinne Michael spins an excellent story which is character driven mixed with intriguing plot. While this is an interconnected stand alone I would suggest reading All to Well book 1 of Ember falls series first. It introduces readers to Miles as well as telling Lach and Ainsley’s story who appear again in Here and now.
