Ceony believes that she is ready to take her final exam and end her apprenticeship. But she has been keeping a secret from everyone, including Emery, she has discovered how to practice all the forms of magic. With time moving quickly towards her final exams a threat from the past is once again present. Ceony has made a promise but she fears that she will be unable to keep it. Will Ceony be able to become a master magician, and keep those she loves most safe?

This has been such an incredibly lovely series to read, I have greatly enjoyed every book and I believe this one has been my favorite. I loved that it incorporated both book 1 and 2. I loved that there were parts that reminded me of the set up of book 1 and that there were parts that reminded me of the set up of book 2. I love that we really see all the different types of magic this time around and how it was incorporated into the plot. I will be honest I am a little confused about there being a fourth book because I feel that everything was wrapped up in this book.

Ceony continues to be incredible. She has incredible strength and determination. I loved that she is willing to risk everything for those she loves. It was fun seeing different sides to her in this book. Getting the chance to see her interact more with her immediate family was really enjoyable. I loved the dynamic between her and her siblings.

Emery and Ceony are a wonderful balance of one another. Reading through the development of their relationship was so sweet. The way that they compliment one another is so fun to see. Their dialogue was perfect and all I wanted was more scenes with them together.

With medium pacing and chapters that varied in length this was the perfect book to end the month with. I loved that while there was adventure and some mystery it was not an intense read. I am super happy that I have read this but I am sad to be saying goodbye to these characters. This will definitely be a series that I revisit in the future. If you enjoy dynamic world building and different types of magic working together this is definitely a series that you should check out.
