The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright
5.0
This was an amazing book and I loved every moment of reading it. This book was one of those books that once you pick it up you can't put it down which is why I finished it with in a day. The one thing I noticed about it was that it was slightly cliche. It was like The Prince and Me met Barbie: Princess Charm School. However, I liked the unique spin that was placed on this cliche. How the quest letters Evie received from her mom made it interesting and the jealousy that was a consent throughout the whole book. One thing I didn't like was that Edmund and Evie never seemed to sort out their relationship, but I can see how that was apart of the plot in certain ways. I loved the little minor things that happened through out the book, keeping it interesting like Presten's feelings for Evie. These little instance didn't make it far in the plot, but it did make the book interesting. Finally, I loved Evie's response to her duchess-ship in the end. I liked how she didn't just hopped into that sort of world, but actually thought about how it would effect her life and acted very realistically. Also Evie and Edmund's relationship was adorable despite their lack of being labeled which Edmund had a good reason for. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone it was perfect and I think it was exactly what I needed to get out of the slump I've been in.
