this reads like tumblr poetry written by a 13 year old trying to be fake deep. there are some meaningful pieces, but they’re still extremely straightforward... i can understand the stylistic choice to an extent, but when every ‘poem’ is in lower case and doesn’t have any punctuation it just becomes meaningless. i’ve studied a lot of poems (as an english major) and i genuinely don’t understand why this is even classified as poetry. aside from a few metaphors and similes, this lacks the fundamental characteristics of poetry, particularly when it comes to structure. i guess one good thing is that it was a quick read because some of the ‘poems’ were like, two lines?

if you want actual poetry, try imtiaz dharker, carol ann duffy, or john agard.
