Hester

This was beautiful, gorgeous, stunning. Easy read while also having beautiful prose, do I need to say anymore?
We definitely start off feeling like this it’s going to be a romance, but there is so much more to this story than I was expecting. The history of black people in Salem was a welcomed surprise. The ancestral trauma between families from accused witch craft and the families who were the accusers and the hypocrisy of it all was another great and surprising perspective that I haven’t read before. And of course the feminist perspective of history.
I loved this book and it’s definitely up there for one of my favorite reads this year.
